Paragraph 16.1.1.4. permits a temporary change of the view to enable an improved view while manoeuvring. During this temporarily modified view, it is permitted that the requirements on the default view (paragraph 16.1.) and object size (paragraph 16.1.1.) are not fulfilled.

At the request of the manufacturer, compliance with the Annex 9 object size requirements may now be demonstrated by calculation. The validity of the calculation method must be established to the satisfaction of the Technical Service.
