Q1What changed104 changes
Definitions: reserved paragraphs deleted and new numbers (paras. 2.14. to 2.30.)
Paragraphs 2.14. to 2.16., which were “(Reserved)”, are deleted. Paragraphs 2.17. to 2.33. are now numbered 2.14. to 2.30. The definition of “Electronic Control System” (para. 2.22.) now ends after “electro-hydraulic elements”. The definition of “Non-Highway” (para. 2.28.) now refers to a highway as defined in paragraph 2.27., not paragraph 2.35. GRVA made the correction to paragraph 2.28. when it adopted the proposal.
Software identification (para. 10.)
Paragraph 10.1., which read only “Requirements for Software Identification”, is deleted. Paragraphs 10.2. to 10.6. are now numbered 10.1. to 10.5.
Other wording and cross-reference changes
In paragraphs 5.3.5.2., 5.3.7.5.1.1., 5.5.3.4.1.5. and 11.1., the cross-references now end with a full stop, for example “paragraph 2.2.”. Paragraph 5.3.7.2.3.4. no longer has the extra word “manoeuvres” after “A manoeuvre”. Under paragraph 5.5.3.4.1., the system or feature may remain in ‘active’ mode if priority is given to the driver input during the overriding period. Before this supplement, the paragraph began with “The system may remain”. Two paragraphs now say “capable of performing driver-confirmed manoeuvres” and “capable of performing system-initiated manoeuvres”, without the word “a”.
Communication (Annex 1) and model assessment form (Annex 3)
In the model assessment form in Annex 3, references such as “(Paragraph 3.2 of this Annex)” now read “(paragraph 3.2. of Annex 3)”. Paragraph 4.2.3. of the form now reads “Test results verified according to Annex 3, paragraph 4.1.2.: Yes/No”. Paragraph 4.4. of the form no longer has the words “(the number of this UN Regulation)” after “UN Regulation No. 171”. In Annex 1 (Communication), “Concerning:2” now reads “Concerning:”.
Reserved paragraphs deleted in Annexes 3 and 5
In Annex 3, under “System design to be assessed during the audit/assessment”, the “(Reserved)” paragraph 2.1.4. is deleted. In Annex 3, paragraphs 2.1.5. to 2.1.9. under “System design to be assessed during the audit/assessment” are now numbered 2.1.4. to 2.1.8. In the definitions of Annex 5, the “(reserved)” paragraphs 2.1. and 2.2. are deleted. Paragraphs 2.3. to 2.23. of Annex 5 are now numbered 2.1. to 2.21.
Lane change displacement, cyclist target and test wording (Annex 4)
In paragraphs 4.2.5.1.2.1.1., 4.2.5.1.3.1.1., 4.2.5.2.5.1.1. and 4.2.5.2.6.1.1., the full lane change now has “(e.g., 3.5 m lateral displacement)” instead of “(3.5 m lateral displacement)”. Paragraph 4.2.5.2.8.1.2. now says that the VUT approaches the impact point with the cyclist target, not the pedestrian target. The straight approach for at least two seconds before the functional part of the test does not change. Paragraph 4.2.5.1.1.1.1. no longer starts with “Functional part I:”.
Scenario names and test references (Annexes 3 and 4)
In the declaration of system capability in Annex 3, “Operating domain requirement” now reads “Operating domain”. The scenario “Stationary pedestrian target ahead in lane” now reads “Stationary pedestrian ahead in lane”. In the Annex 4 table, the test references for “Equivalent performance of other safety systems” now include 4.2.5.2.4. and 4.2.5.2.11.1. instead of 4.2.5.2.4.1. and 4.2.5.2.7.1.
