Q1What changed6 changes
When the second level warning may stop (para. 5.2.4.3.)
The second level warning may now also be discontinued when other audible safety warnings are triggered, in circumstances of imminent danger. An example is where the vehicle has to be stopped. In this case, just the audible signal should be discontinued. The word “or” now ends condition (c) instead of condition (b).
Purpose of the second level warning (para. 0.4.)
New paragraph 0.4. says that the second level warning is intended to warn if one safety-belt is unfastened during normal driving conditions. It says that there are some possibilities in real traffic for higher priority warnings or actions not described in this UN Regulation. These situations cannot be understood as “normal operation”; examples include door opening during driving and thermal propagation. Other safety warnings may alert the driver to check the overall safety of occupants and stop the vehicle. In such cases, the second level warning may also be discontinued.
