Annex 3 refers to M.R.1 for the “H” point procedure
New footnote 1 in Annex 3 says that Addendum 6 of Mutual Resolution No. 1 (M.R.1) describes the procedure. The footnote names document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1101/Amend.5. The definitions, requirements and steps in Annex 3 to find the “H” point and the actual torso angle are deleted. Deleted paragraph 3.2.2. set tolerances: a 50 mm square around the “R” point and 5 degrees between the actual and design torso angle. A deleted footnote covered seating positions other than front seats where the “H” point cannot be determined with the 3-D H machine or procedures. For these positions, the competent authority could accept the “R” point given by the manufacturer as a reference.
Text of Appendices 1 to 3 of Annex 3 deleted
Appendix 1 described the 3-D H machine, Appendix 2 the three-dimensional reference system and Appendix 3 the reference data for seating positions. The text of the three appendices is deleted. The new Annex 3 lists the three appendices by title only. Two deleted footnotes referred to ISO Standard 6549-1980 for the 3-D H machine and ISO Standard 4130, 1978 for the reference system.
References to R.E.3 in footnotes 1 and 2 (paras. 1. and 4.4.1.1.)
Footnote 1 to paragraph 1. now refers to paragraph 2 of R.E.3 in document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/78/Rev.7. Before this supplement, it referred to Annex 7 to R.E.3, document TRANS/WP.29/78/Rev.1/Amend.2, as last amended by Amendment 4. Footnote 2 to paragraph 4.4.1.1. now says that the distinguishing numbers of the Contracting Parties are in Annex 3 to R.E.3. Before this supplement, the footnote listed the numbers from 1 for Germany to 56 for Montenegro.
