UN R159 change reports — Moving Off Information System (MOIS)
UN Regulation No. 159 (ECE R159) — Uniform provisions concerning the approval of motor vehicles with regard to the Moving Off Information System for the Detection of Pedestrians and Cyclists.

- 00 series — Supplement 3
Paragraph 1.3. gives the vehicles of category M and N that are exempted from this Regulation. New item (b) adds vehicles of category Y. It also adds vehicles of category X without a manual mode which is intended to be operated on-board the vehicle.

New provisions in paragraph 5.1.1. apply, as appropriate, to vehicles with a means to automatically deactivate the MOIS, for example with snowploughs attached. The MOIS must be automatically reactivated as soon as the conditions that led to the automatic deactivation are not present anymore.

Under paragraph 5.2.2.3.3., the Technical Service may check the operation of the system according to the detection adjustment strategy for a turning maneuver. Before, the text said “shall” instead of “may”.
