Q1What changed5 changes
Manual, automatic or ADS control of the cleaning device (para. 6.5.4.)
The control of the cleaning device may be manual or automatic. Before this supplement, paragraph 6.5.4. said that the control of the cleaning device must be operable from the driver's seat. As before, the control may be coupled with the controls for other cleaning devices. A new sentence says that, while an ADS feature is active, the ADS may control the cleaning device.
Manual control from the driver's seat, except categories X and Y (para. 6.5.4.)
Any manual control of the cleaning device must be operable from the driver's seat, except on vehicles of categories X and Y. The exception for categories X and Y is new. New footnote 4 on categories X and Y refers to the definitions in the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3.), document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/78/Rev.8.
Reference to UN Regulation No. 48
The reference to Regulation No. 48 now reads “UN Regulation No. 48”. The rest of this sentence does not change.
