Q1What changed3 changes
New Introduction: the purpose of Supplement 2 (paras 0. and 0.1.)
New paragraph 0. adds an Introduction to the Regulation. Paragraph 0.1. says that Supplement 2 to the original version is introduced to take into account vehicles of categories X and Y. Supplement 2 is introduced to take into account vehicles with an Automated Driving System (ADS) and a manual mode operating at speeds above 6 km/h. Before this supplement, the Regulation had no paragraph 0.
Reference to R.E.3 in footnote 1 (para. 1.)
Footnote 1 to paragraph 1. now gives document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/78/Rev.8 for the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3.). The footnote now also gives the web address https://unece.org/transport/vehicle-regulations/wp29/resolutions. Before, the footnote referred to R.E.3, annex 7, in document TRANS/SC1/WP29/78/Amend.3. The footnote now starts with “As defined in”, not with “See”. In the text that GRSG sent to WP.29, the footnote said “Rev. 8, para. 2”. AC.1 adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2026/114 as amended by Annex VI of ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1192, which gives the footnote without “para. 2”.
