UN R142 change reports — Tyre installation
UN Regulation No. 142 (ECE R142) — Uniform provisions concerning the approval of motor vehicles with regard to the installation of their tyres.
01 series

New paragraphs 2.23. to 2.26. define “Automated Driving System (ADS)”, “Dynamic Driving Task (DDT)”, “Category X vehicles” and “Category Y vehicles”.

New paragraph 5.2.1.5. says Free Rolling Tyres marked “FRT” must not be fitted to front axles and drive axles of M or N motor vehicles.

Paragraph 10.2. on type approvals to the preceding series of amendments, first issued after 6 July 2022, is deleted.

The Regulation now applies to vehicles of category M, N and O with regard to the installation of their tyres, instead of category M1.
