Symbol 3 in the Annex 6 key to symbols now refers to UN Regulation No. 16, Annex 16. Before this supplement, it referred to the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3), Annex 13, Appendix 1. Symbol 3 is for two lower anchorages and one upper anchorage. They allow the installation of a three-point safety-belt type A, or of safety-belts types Ar, Ar4m or Ar4Nm, where required.

Reasons
Reasons given by the proposer: Secretariat, in informal document GRSP-66-16. GRSP adopted GRSP-66-16, as reproduced in Annex II to its report, and asked the secretariat to submit it to WP.29 and AC.1 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/66, para. 16).
