- What changed
- Annex 4, paragraph 3.2. adds a provision for tests done at the same time as emission tests to UN Regulations Nos. 85 and/or 49.
- In this case, at the request of the manufacturer, the reference fuel for the emission tests can be used for the tests to this Regulation.

- The proposal aims to explicitly permit the reference fuel for emission testing. This is when the manufacturer applies for UN Regulations Nos. 85 and/or 49 type approval at the same time.
- Other countries that apply UN Regulation No. 24 may not allow the test fuels that Europe permits, so manufacturers must prepare fuels with different characteristics.

Reference fuel when emission tests are done at the same time (Annex 4, para. 3.2.)
Annex 4, paragraph 3.2. adds a provision for testing to this Regulation at the same time as to UN Regulations Nos. 85 and/or 49. These are tests for emission of gaseous and particulate pollutants. In this case, at the request of the manufacturer, the reference fuel for these emission tests can be used for the tests to this Regulation. Before this supplement, paragraph 3.2. did not have this provision. Paragraph 3.2. also says that the fuel used must be the one available on the market. In any case of dispute, the fuel must be the reference fuel whose specifications are given in Annex 6.
