Q1What changed8 changes
Conformity of production procedures and inspections (paras. 10.1. and 10.3.)
Under paragraph 10.1., conformity of production procedures must conform to the general provisions in Article 2 and Schedule 1 of the 1958 Agreement (E/ECE/TRANS/505/Rev.3). Before this supplement, the procedures had to comply with those set out in Appendix 2 of the Agreement (E/ECE/324-E/ECE/TRANS/505/Rev.2). Under paragraph 10.3., the Type Approval Authority that granted the approval may check at any time the conformity of control methods for each production unit. The normal frequency of these inspections stays at once every year. Before this supplement, paragraph 10.3. referred to paragraph 2.4. of Appendix 2 of the Agreement.
Compliance with Annex 23 (para. 10.2.)
Under paragraph 10.2., a vehicle approved under this Regulation must be manufactured to conform to the type approved, by meeting paragraphs 6. and 7. The vehicle must also comply with the requirements of Annex 23. Before this supplement, paragraph 10.2. read “Special provisions”. Before this supplement, the checks of paragraph 2.2. of Appendix 2 of the Agreement had to include compliance with Annex 23.
Reference to M.R.1 in Annex 22, footnote 1
Footnote 1 of Annex 22 now says that the procedure is described in Addendum 6 of Mutual Resolution No. 1 (M.R.1), document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1101/Amend.5. Before this supplement, the footnote referred to Annex 1 and its appendices to the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3). The web address also changes.
R.E.3 references in three footnotes (paras. 1(a) and 5.4.1., Annex 24)
Three footnotes now refer to document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/78/Rev.7 of the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3). These are footnote 1 to paragraph 1(a), footnote 2 to paragraph 5.4.1. and footnote 1 of Annex 24. Before this supplement, they referred to Rev.3 or Rev.2/Amend.1. They also give the new web address https://unece.org/transport/vehicle-regulations/wp29/resolutions. The footnote to paragraph 5.4.1. now reads “distinguishing numbers” instead of “distinguish numbers”.
