Q2Why it changed

Proposed by
Experts of the Informal Working Group on International Whole Vehicle Type Approval
Working party
WP.29, 178th session (June 2019)

Reasons

Reasons given by the proposer: IWG on IWVTA, in informal document WP.29-178-05. WP.29 noted at its 178th session that the IWG planned to submit proposals based on WP.29-178-05 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1147, para. 79).

  • The secretariat proposed to amend paragraph 13.5. to reflect that the new IWVTA functionality in the 343 application "shall serve as the unique means of notification". The proposal quotes paragraph 73 of WP.29 report ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1145. There, the secretariat introduced the new IWVTA functionality of the "343 app", expected to be rolled out before the application date of UN Regulation No. 0.
