Base text → Supplement 1

Adopted at the WP.29 186th sessionEntry into force 2022-10-08
What changed
  • Supplement 1 adds transitional provisions to the 04 series of amendments in new paragraphs 12.5. and 12.6.
  • From the entry into force of the 04 series, Contracting Parties applying this Regulation must not refuse to grant or accept 04 series IWVTAs.
  • From 1 September 2022, Contracting Parties applying this UN Regulation need not accept IWVTAs to the 03 series first issued on or after that date.
Why
  • The Chair of the IWG on IWVTA proposed the transitional provisions in paragraphs 12.5. and 12.6. as an amendment to the 04 series proposal.
  • The European Union had already voted on ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2021/84. The representative of the European Commission said he therefore had no mandate to vote for the European Union on WP.29-185-10.
  • WP.29 agreed to consider the amendments as a supplement at its March 2022 session.
