Q1What changed1 change
Safety-belts for rearward-facing seating positions of M3 vehicles (Annex 16)
In the Annex 16 table, the cell for rearward-facing seating positions of M3 vehicles now shows “Br3, Br4m, Br4Nm”. Before this supplement, the cell showed “-”. Reasons
The purpose of the proposal is to update the safety-belt installation requirements of Annex XVI.
Source
“The expert from France introduced GRSP-63-04 to update the safety-belt installation requirements of Annex XVI of the UN Regulation.”
Proposer's reason (informal document GRSP-63-04)
The Annex XVI table of Supplement 08 to the 04 series had no separation line between the M2 > 3.5 tonnes and M3 categories. All required safety-belts were for both vehicle applications. When the separation line appeared, the required safety-belts were not distinguished. This was corrected in Supplement 08 to the 06 series, except for rearward-facing seating positions.
Submitted by Expert from France. Working party adoption: ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/63, para. 17.
