UN R10 Supplement 2 (06 series) · UNECE Regulation No. 10 (ECE R10) — Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to electromagnetic compatibility.
UN R10 — Supplement 2 to the 06 series of amendments
Supplement 1 → 2
- What changed
- Figure 1 of Annex 4, Appendix 1 now also shows the alternative 3 m antenna distance: 3,00 m ± 0,05 m for 3 m measurements.
- In Annex 6, paragraph 3.3.4. now gives the reference point for four-wheeled vehicles as well as for three-wheeled vehicles.
- Why
- Figure 1 of Annex 4, Appendix 1 did not show the alternative 3 m antenna distance that the standard CISPR 12 gives.
- Paragraph 3.3.4. of Annex 6 did not cover the reference point for categories L6 and L7 vehicles, and the test setup was not clear.
Q1What changed2 changes
Antenna distance for 3 m measurements (Annex 4, Appendix 1, Figure 1)
Figure 1 of Annex 4, Appendix 1 now gives "3,00 m ± 0,05 m for 3 m measurements" together with the 10,0 m ± 0,2 m dimension. Before this supplement, the figure did not show this alternative 3 m antenna distance. For vehicles of category L, paragraph 3.1. of Annex 4 allows an alternative to the CISPR 12 requirements for the test surface. The test surface may then be any location that fulfils the conditions shown in the figure of Appendix 1.
Reference point for four-wheeled vehicles (Annex 6, para. 3.3.4.)
Paragraph 3.3. of Annex 6 defines the reference point for category L vehicles. Paragraph 3.3.4. now puts the reference point at 1.0 ± 0.2 m behind the vertical centreline of the vehicle's front wheel(s) for three-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles. Before this supplement, this position was only for three-wheeled vehicles, and the text said "front wheel".

- Working party
- GRE, 85th session (October 2021)
Reasons
Figure 1 of Annex 4, Appendix 1 did not show the alternative 3 m antenna distance.
Source
“In Figure 1 of Annex 4, Appendix 1, the alternative 3 m antenna distance is missing.”
The standard CISPR 12 gives the alternative 3 m antenna distance in the note below its similar figure.
Source
“Standard CISPR 12 prescribes the alternative 3 m antenna distance in the note below the similar figure”
Paragraph 3.3.4. of Annex 6 gave the reference point for two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles only.
Source
“paragraph 3.3.4. specifies the reference point for two and three-wheeled vehicles only”
The reference point for categories L6 and L7 vehicles was not covered, and the test setup was not clear.
Source
“The reference point for categories L6 and L7 defined in paragraphs 2.1.6. and 2.1.7. of the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3) is not covered, and the test setup is not clear.”
Categories L2 and L5 vehicles can have two front wheels, so the same test setup was proposed for categories L6 and L7 vehicles by analogy.
