UN R10 Supplement 3 (06 series) · UNECE Regulation No. 10 (ECE R10) — Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to electromagnetic compatibility.

UN R10 — Supplement 3 to the 06 series of amendments

Supplement 2 → 3

Adopted at the WP.29 192nd sessionEntry into force 2024-09-22
What changed
  • Model A in Annex 1 now reads 'a = 6 mm min' and gives approval No. 06 2439 instead of 05 2439.
  • In Annexes 4 and 6, figure references in the texts on the power charging harness changed.
  • For the power charging local/private communication harness, Annexes 4 and 6 now also cite the figures that show the projected harness length.
Why
  • The proposal aimed to correct wrong references and add missing text.
  • In Annex 1, 'min' was missing after 'a = 6 mm' in the first example of markings.

Q1What changed10 changes

Approval mark example Model A (Annex 1)

In Model A of Annex 1, the line 'a = 6 mm' now reads 'a = 6 mm min'. The text of Model A now gives approval No. 06 2439 instead of approval No. 05 2439.

a = 6 mm min
The above approval mark affixed to a vehicle or ESA shows that the vehicle type concerned has, with regard to electromagnetic compatibility, been approved in the Netherlands (E 4) pursuant to Regulation No. 10 under approval No. 05 06 2439. The approval number indicates that the approval was granted according to the requirements of Regulation No. 10 as amended by the 06 series of amendments.

Figure references for the power charging harness in Annex 4

In Annex 4, the power charging harness text now says '(see Figure 3a and Figure 3c)' instead of '(see Figure 3d and Figure 3c)'. For the projected harness length, that text now cites Figure 3b and Figure 3d instead of Figure 3d and Figure 3e. The text on the power charging local/private communication harness now cites Figure 3e and Figure 3g instead of Figure 3f and Figure 3g. That text now also says that the projected harness length is as shown in Figure 3f and Figure 3h.

The power charging harness shall be placed in a straight line between the AMN(s) and the vehicle charging plug and shall be routed perpendicularly to the vehicle longitudinal axis (see Figure 3d 3a and Figure 3c). The projected harness length from the side of the AMN(s) to the side of the vehicle shall be 0,8 (+0,2 / -0) m as shown in Figure 3d 3b and Figure 3e3d.
The power charging local/private communication harness shall be laid out in a straight line between the AMN(s) / DC-charging-AN(s) / AAN(s) and the vehicle charging socket and shall be routed perpendicularly to the vehicle’s longitudinal axis (see Figure 3f 3e and Figure 3g). The projected harness length from the side of the AMN(s) to the side of the vehicle shall be 0,8 (+0,2 / -0) m as shown in Figure 3f and Figure 3h.

Figure references for the power charging harness in Annex 6

In Annex 6, the power charging harness text now says '(see Figure 4a and Figure 4c)' instead of '(see Figure 3d and Figure 3e)'. For the projected harness length, that text now cites Figure 4b and Figure 4d instead of Figure 3d and Figure 3e. The text on the power charging local/private communication harness now cites Figure 4e and Figure 4g instead of Figure 3f and Figure 3g. That text now also says that the projected harness length is as shown in Figure 4f and Figure 4h.

The power charging harness shall be placed in a straight line between the AMN(s) and the vehicle charging plug and shall be routed perpendicularly to the vehicle longitudinal axis (see Figure 3d 4a and Figure 3e4c). The projected harness length from the side of the AMN(s) to the side of the vehicle shall be 0,8 (+0,2 / -0) m as shown in Figure 3d 4b and Figure 3e4d.
The power charging local/private communication harness shall be laid out in a straight line between the AMN(s) / DC-charging-AN(s) / AAN(s) and the vehicle charging socket and shall be routed perpendicularly to the vehicle’s longitudinal axis (see Figure 3f 4e and Figure 3g4g). The projected harness length from the side of the AMN(s) to the side of the vehicle shall be 0,8 (+0,2 / - 0) m as shown in Figure 4f and Figure 4h.

Quotation marks around 'Z-folded' (Annexes 4 and 6)

In Annexes 4 and 6, the word Z-folded now stands in single quotation marks instead of double quotation marks. The rest of the text in these paragraphs is the same.

For a longer harness the extraneous length shall be “'Z-folded” ' in a less than 0,5 m width approximately around the middle of the AMN to vehicle distance. If it is impractical to do so because of harness bulk or stiffness, or because the testing is being done at a user’s installation, the disposition of the excess harness shall be precisely noted in the test report.

Reasons

  • In Annex 1, 'min' was missing after 'a = 6 mm' in the first example of markings.

    Source
“In Annex 1, for the first example of markings, a ‘min’ is missing after ‘a = 6 mm’as in Model B.”
  • The proposal also corrects the approval number in the text.

    Source
“The approval number is also corrected in the text.”
  • In Annexes 4 and 6, the references to figures in paragraphs 2.3.3. and 2.4.4. were incorrect and needed to be changed.
