- 04 series — Supplement 12
Paragraph 6.1.1. now requires an ambient temperature between 0 °C and 45 °C for the test.
- 04 series — Supplement 11
Any ACSF of Category A must fulfil the requirements of paragraph 5.6.1. unless the vehicle has a DCAS which meets conditions (a) to (c).
- 04 series — Supplement 10
In remote-control parking, a direct influence on the vehicle speed through the remote-control device or by driver movement must only reduce the speed. Before this supplement, such a direct influence on the value of acceleration and deceleration was not possible.
- 04 series — Supplement 9
Condition (c) of paragraph 5.6.5. now says which version or series of UN Regulation No. 171 the DCAS must comply with.
- 04 series — Supplement 8
New paragraph 5.3.3.6. gives an alternative to the 24 “figure of eight” manoeuvres of paragraph 5.3.3.3. for a shared energy source or electrical supply.
- 04 series — Supplement 7
Paragraph 1.2.3. is deleted. Before, the Regulation did not apply to steering systems with ACSF of Categories B2, D or E until specific provisions were introduced in this Regulation.
- 04 series — Supplement 6
Paragraph 5.8. has steering equipment requirements for vehicles with an ADS, other than Automated Lane Keeping Systems as defined in UN Regulation No. 157.
- 04 series — Supplement 5
New paragraph 5.6.5. covers vehicles with systems that exhibit ACSF of Category D functionality. These vehicles must not be approved under this Regulation unless the vehicle has a DCAS that meets conditions (a) to (c).
- 04 series — Supplement 4
New text in paragraph 5.6.4.2.3. lets the ACSF of Category C switch automatically to standby mode. This follows an activation request on any type of road by a deliberate action with the same means as for ACSF of Category B1.
- 04 series — Supplement 3
New paragraphs 5.6.4.8.1.2. and 5.6.4.8.1.3. cover N2 and N3 vehicles able to assist lane change when coupled to an O3 or O4 trailer.
- 04 series — Supplement 2
For ACSF of Category B1, paragraph 5.6.2.2.3. now says that the system must avoid sudden loss of steering support. It must do this by continuing to provide assistance to the extent possible as outlined in the safety concept of the vehicle manufacturer.
- 04 series — Supplement 1
For RCP based on detection of driver position and movement, continuous driver movement is now an alternative to continuous actuation of the remote-control device. The driver must move in the same longitudinal direction as the vehicle.
- 04 series — Base text
New paragraph 5.1.6.3. sets requirements for a Risk Mitigation Function (RMF), an emergency function for the event that the driver becomes unresponsive.
03 series
- 03 series — Supplement 17
Paragraph 6.1.1. now requires an ambient temperature between 0 °C and 45 °C for the test.
- 03 series — Supplement 16
Any ACSF of Category A must fulfil the requirements of paragraph 5.6.1. unless the vehicle has a DCAS which meets conditions (a) to (c).
- 03 series — Supplement 15
In remote-control parking, a direct influence on the vehicle speed through the remote-control device or by driver movement must only reduce the speed. Before this supplement, such a direct influence on the value of acceleration and deceleration was not possible.
- 03 series — Supplement 14
Condition (c) of paragraph 5.6.5. now says which version or series of UN Regulation No. 171 the DCAS must comply with.
- 03 series — Supplement 13
New paragraph 5.3.3.6. gives an alternative to the 24 “figure of eight” manoeuvres of paragraph 5.3.3.3. for a shared energy source or electrical supply.
- 03 series — Supplement 12
Paragraph 1.2.3. is deleted. Before, the Regulation did not apply to steering systems with ACSF of Categories B2, D or E until specific provisions were introduced in this Regulation.
- 03 series — Supplement 11
New paragraphs 5.8. to 5.8.3.1. set requirements for the steering equipment of vehicles equipped with an Automated Driving System (ADS). Automated Lane Keeping Systems as defined in UN Regulation No. 157 are excluded.
- 03 series — Supplement 10
New paragraph 5.6.5. covers vehicles with systems that exhibit ACSF of Category D functionality. These vehicles must not be approved under this Regulation unless the vehicle has a DCAS that meets conditions (a) to (c).
- 03 series — Supplement 9
New text in paragraph 5.6.4.2.3. lets the ACSF of Category C switch automatically to standby mode. This follows an activation request on any type of road by a deliberate action with the same means as for ACSF of Category B1.
- 03 series — Supplement 8
New paragraphs 5.6.4.8.1.2. and 5.6.4.8.1.3. cover N2 and N3 vehicles able to assist lane change when coupled to an O3 or O4 trailer.
- 03 series — Supplement 7
The system must now avoid sudden loss of steering support by continuing assistance to the extent possible as outlined in the vehicle manufacturer's safety concept.
- 03 series — Supplement 6
For RCP based on detection of driver position and movement, continuous driver movement is now an alternative to continuous actuation of the remote-control device. The driver must move in the same longitudinal direction as the vehicle.
- 03 series — Supplement 5
Paragraph 5.6.4.1.2. adds an exception to the lane centring aim of ACSF of Category B1 when ACSF of Category C is in standby mode.
- 03 series — Supplement 4
In several Annex 8 tests for ACSF of Category C, another vehicle approaches from the rear to enable the system. This step now applies unless the system is already enabled according to paragraph 5.6.4.8.3.
- 03 series — Supplement 3
New paragraph 5.1.6.1.2.3. covers vehicles of categories M2 and M3 equipped with an LDWS fulfilling the technical requirements of Regulation No. 130. For them, a haptic warning may replace the acoustic warning signal of paragraphs 5.1.6.1.2.1. and 5.1.6.1.2.2., if not solely given through the steering wheel.
- 03 series — Supplement 2
The lane change manoeuvre must be initiated either automatically or by a second deliberate action of the driver, but a vehicle must not have both.
- 03 series — Supplement 1
The optical and the acoustic or haptic warning signal for an ESF intervention must now be maintained as long as the intervention exists.
