Q1What changed77 changes
Renumbered definitions (paras. 2.2. to 2.15.)
Paragraphs 2.3. to 2.16. and their subparagraphs are renumbered as 2.2. to 2.15. For example, the definition of “Lamp” is now paragraph 2.2. instead of paragraph 2.3.
References to the renumbered definitions (para. 5.10. and Annex 1, item 6)
Paragraph 5.10. now says “a lamp as defined in paragraph 2.2.” in two places. Before this supplement, both places referred to paragraph 2.3. Item 6 of Annex 1 now says “Equivalent lamps: yes/no (see paragraph 2.2.1.)”. Before this supplement, it referred to paragraph 2.3.1.
References to UN Regulation No. 148 (Light-Signalling Devices)
Paragraphs 6.4., 6.5., 6.7. to 6.12., 6.16., 6.18., 6.19. and 6.24. now name UN Regulation No. 148 instead of “[LSD]”. In these paragraphs, “UN Regulation No.” becomes “UN Regulations Nos.”. Paragraphs 6.10. and 6.18. now say “Rear fog lamps” and “Side marker lamps”, without a hyphen. Paragraph 6.24.9.2. now refers to paragraph 5.10.2. of UN Regulation No. 148 instead of UN Regulation No. [LSD].
References to UN Regulation No. 149 (Road Illumination Devices)
Paragraphs 6.1., 6.2., 6.3. and 6.20. now name UN Regulation No. 149 instead of “[RID]”. Paragraph 6.1. now reads “Main-beam headlamps (UN Regulations Nos. 98, 112, 113 or 149)”. Paragraphs 6.3. and 6.20. now say “UN Regulations Nos.” instead of “UN Regulation No.”.
References to UN Regulation No. 150 (Retro-Reflective Devices)
Paragraphs 6.14., 6.15., 6.15.2., 6.17., 6.21., 6.22., 6.25. and 6.26. now name UN Regulation No. 150 instead of “[RRD]”. The definition of the “Slow-Moving Vehicles (SMV) rear marking plate” in paragraph 2.14. now says “(see UN Regulations Nos. 69 or 150)”. Paragraphs 6.22.2., 6.22.3., 6.22.5. and 6.22.6. and the “Width” and “Length” entries now refer to Annex 25 of UN Regulation No. 150 instead of “[RRD]”. Paragraph 2. of Annex 6 now names UN Regulation No. 150, class 5 or class F, for each panel or foil.
Devices approved to a preceding series (para. 5.20.)
Paragraph 5.20. now names UN Regulations Nos. 148 and/or 149 and/or 150 instead of “[LSD]”, “[RID]” and “[RRD]”. A device type approved to any preceding series of these regulations is deemed equivalent to one approved to the latest series of the pertinent regulations. This applies when the change indexes (defined in UN Regulation No. 48) related to each individual lamp (function) do not differ. Then the device may be fitted on the vehicle to be type approved without any update of the device type approval documents and device markings.
Number of rear retro-reflectors, non-triangular (para. 6.14.2.)
The “Number” entry of paragraph 6.14.2. no longer says “Two or four (see paragraph 6.14.5.1.)”. The entry now starts with the performance sentence, which now names UN Regulation No. 3 or 150 instead of UN Regulation No. 3 or [RRD]. The sentence on additional retro-reflecting devices and materials does not change.
