Base text → Supplement 1
- What changed
- Paragraphs 6.1.2. and 6.2.2. now list the type approvals for main-beam and dipped-beam headlamps, with classes of UN Regulation No. 149.
- Paragraph 6.1.2. replaces “Two or four” with two main-beam headlamps plus one optional additional pair.
- Paragraph 6.1.9.2. no longer gives the reference mark “10” to headlamps marked “R” or “CR”.
- Why
- The aim is to add references to the headlamp classes of the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 149.
- The entry into force of the new 01 series of UN Regulation No. 149 makes alternative references in UN Regulation No. 86 necessary.
Q1What changed19 changes
Type approval and number of main-beam headlamps (para. 6.1.2.)
Paragraph 6.1.2. now lists the type approvals for the two main-beam headlamps. These are UN Regulations Nos. 98, 112 or 113, or listed classes of the 00 or 01 and subsequent series of UN Regulation No. 149. Before this supplement, the number was “Two or four”. The words “or four” are deleted, and the paragraph adds an optional additional pair with its own list of type approvals.
Type approval of dipped-beam headlamps (para. 6.2.2.)
Paragraph 6.2.2. now lists the type approvals for the dipped-beam headlamps. These are UN Regulations Nos. 98, 112 or 113, or listed classes of the 00 or 01 and subsequent series of UN Regulation No. 149. The number does not change: two (or four - see paragraph 6.2.4.2.4.).
Deletion of the reference mark “10” rule (para. 6.1.9.2.)
Paragraph 6.1.9.2. no longer gives the reference mark “10” to each headlamp marked “R” or “CR”. The maximum intensity is still the sum of the individual reference marks that are indicated on the several headlamps.
