- GRSG, 116th session (April 2019)
Reasons
UN Regulation No. 67 had no provisions on the location of the filling unit of the LPG container outside the vehicle. A filling unit located under the vehicle causes problems. Examples are difficulties with filling the LPG container and risks to the occupational health and safety of filling operators. With the filling unit under the vehicle, operators must kneel down or lie down on the ground to fill the container.

“In the current text of UN Regulation No. 67, there are no provisions on the location of the filling unit of the LPG container outside the vehicle.”
“the filling unit located under the vehicle causes problems including: (a) Difficulties with filling the LPG container; (b) Risks involved on occupational health and safety of LPG container filling operators;”
“When filling the container, obliges operators to kneel down/lie down on the ground;”
When the vehicle is in laden position, the filler pistol may be unable to fit the space between the ground and the filling unit. This prevents the filling of the container.
